so michael and i are in the big apple for six weeks this summer during his training for his new job. then we head back to LA but for right now we are LOVING this city! we are about half-way through our time here and can't believe how fast it's gone by, but we've done some pretty fun and typical things so far!
Juliana's pizza...... literally the best I've ever had. we tried going to Grimaldi's, supposedly the best pizza in the country, but to no surprise, the line was outrageous, so we went next door to Juliana's and it was to die for!
if you are ever in NYC, you must eat at max brenner, chocolate by the bald man. they have extravagant desserts that make every chocolate-lover's dreams come true, including mine.
yes, we went to the Met, crazy crowded but oh, so worth it. my personal favorites are in the impressionist section. it is breathtaking to know you are standing in front of some of the most famous painters of all time, and surreal to see really how talented they were. above i posted a Van Gogh and a Monet, a couple of my favorites of the day!
as my first big outing to manhattan by myself, i decided to visit the 9/11 memorial. even though that tragic day was twelve years ago, i remember it like it was yesterday. the memorial is gorgeous and very touching. it was a somber day, but i'm so glad i took the time to visit and remember. it was also very neat to see the new world trade center being built, some magnificent buildings for sure!
